About the SRDP

The Southbridge Recycling & Disposal Park (SRDP) contains a Subtitle D landfill and a C&D recycling facility

In 2003, Casella Waste Systems, Inc. acquired Southbridge Recycling & Disposal Park, Inc. (SRDP), including a contract with the Town of Southbridge, Massachusetts to operate the facility. The site, which remains Town-owned today, consists of approximately 95 acres of landfill area, and is permitted to accept 405,600 tons of municipal solid waste, processed C&D residual material and certain pre-approved special waste annually. The facility also houses a landfill gas-to-energy plant, which is owned and operated by Casella that has the capacity to generate 1.6 mW/hr of energy.
